Training Week 3: Sharon BuMann

Wellllllllll, my partner and I just put in a "Quick mile" before dark. (Quick as in 11.75 min. as opposed to 17 min. at the beginning of last season.) Still has lots of room for improvement. In the interim however, one of us zigged as the other zagged and yours truly, twisted an ankle in a pothole and went down! "My boy" stopped and looked at me as if to say, "A new trick?" NowI have one nicely scraped leg to go with my freshly shorn legs.... Moral of the story: DON'T SHAVE YOUR LEGS before you run!???????? (I think not, but it makes for a good story ... :) Satch (my guide dog) is very helpful keeping pace (he REALLY IS poetry in motion when he moves, if I can only keep the squirrels out of his eyeshot.) He is also diligent about getting me going as well (check out the photo.)

Swimming has been "interesting"... I have been photographed the last two times. It is a little like seeing a "PEEPING TOM" under water. (very weird ...) I believe Brendan is considering training to become a " pearl diver". I must say, lately I hate getting out of the water when our time is up. I am just "getting into it" AND IT'S OVER! RAaaaaaaaaaat!

On my bike this week I focused on cadence and "pulling" with my "clipless". To my delight I have a new speed record, 37 mph, (down hill of course)... wooo hooooo! Yes, I like the speed. I admit it, I am a "speed junkie". What a rush there is to be had!

As for "heavy breathing"? OH yeah baby... lots of it!
