SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer says he likes how his players are still fighting for starting positions going into the first game week of the season, and he and his staff are making sure the younger players learn how to stay composed come kickoff.
The Orange opens the season against Villanova Friday at the Carrier Dome at 7:30 p.m.
