The first steel beam of the new Syracuse University football indoor practice center is now in place.
The facility will be the same footprint as the Carrier Dome and will allow athletes to practice in a facility that fits their needs.
"As the facilities get built and are actually controlled by athletics. It's our facility. I mean the Carrier Dome is an athletic facility, but we do so many other events in there for the university that sometimes it's tough for us to get the team in there. So this allows them to come in and out of there as they need to or as they can schedule," said Senior Associate Athletic Director Pete Sala.
If everything goes as plan, the new facility will be completed by Dec. 1.
