SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- After falling behind 25-7 early in the first half Saturday afternoon, the Syracuse Men's Basketball team roared back to beat former Big East rival and fellow unbeaten, Villanova, 78-62 in the Carrier Dome Saturday.
The 18 point deficit was erased as the Orange went on a 20-0 run, holding the Wildcats scoreless for more than seven minutes. SU extended their lead late in the game thanks to clutch free-throws. Syracuse was 29-35 from the line for the game. Trevor Cooney led the Orange with 21 points, but Tyler Ennis was another key contributor with 20 points in a matchup that featured his brother on the opposing sideline.
Syracuse improves to 12-0 on the season. The Orange hosts Eastern Michigan at the Dome on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
