INDIANAPOLIS -- Former SU running back Delone Carter is gearing up for his NFL preseason debut at St. Louis Saturday.
But he has got to really be looking forward to the Colts' final preseason game back in his home state when the Colts visit Cincinnati September first, the same night the Orange are opening their season in Syracuse.
The guy who finished third on the Orange all-time rushing list has traded in his trademark number three for number 34 in Indy.
Carter is hoping to at least get in in short-yardage situations this season.
Right now he is listed as the fourth running back on the Colts' depth chart.
And because of the lockout he says his learning process has been accelerated.
