SYRACUSE, N.Y. - It was a fun family day at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse Sunday as people participated in the Monster Scramble.
There was a 5K, 10K, and 1 mile family-fun stroll with candy stations.
As you can see, participants were encouraged to wear costumes.
The event benefits the Upstate New York Chapter of the National MS Society.
Organizers wanted to make sure the Halloween themed event was fun for everyone while respecting their surroundings.
"In our partnership with Woodlawn Cemetery we notified families and there are signs up letting folks, know who have loves ones in this area, that this is going to be occurring. The race is clearly marked so people are staying on the road and we have folks doing clean up," said Nikki Bomasuto, Campaign Manager for the MS Society of Upstate New York.
Prizes were awarded to the top male and female finishers, the best in each age category, and of course the best costume.
