CANTON, N.Y. -- The campaign push for the 21st congressional district continues.
Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello made his first campaign stop in St. Lawrence County Wednesday.
Funiciello met voters at Canton's Seniorama event and toured local businesses.
If elected, Funiciello said he will bring true representation to the district. He said the millions of dollars being spent on the race doesn't represent the interest of voters.
Funiciello believes the corporate money going into his opponents campaigns doesn't belong in elections.
"I say if we want to take our political system back to actually rejuvenate our democracy we need to get the money out of it," he said. "The two candidates I'm running against are both quite rich, and they are both running with corporate money. I am not."
Funiciello will be joined on the ballot by Republican Elise Stefanik and Democrat Aaron Woolf.
