ALBANY, N.Y. -- After several hours of questioning for his second day on the stand, testimony has ended for Jared Abbruzzese in the retrial for Joe Bruno.

Friday's questioning by the defense has proved they certainly have a strategy. Unlike during the prosecutions' questioning, the defense had full cooperation from Abbruzzese while on the stand.

The defense also presented records of trips to Washington, D.C. taken by Abbruzzese and Bruno. They argued there was no reason the two men couldn't consult in Washington, D.C. considering Bruno was a state politician.

"The defense did a good job of getting Abbruzzese to explain why he would pay so much money to Senator Bruno for what appears to be so little, the whole idea that he was helping him in Washington, D.C., not Albany, so because it's for Washington, D.C. there is no conflict," said Paul DerOhannesian, a legal analyst.

Throughout all of the questioning by the defense there was no mention of the $1.5 million grant to Abbruzzese's company, which remains a key piece of evidence for the prosecution.

Time Warner Cable News pick this trial up Monday, expecting a pair of prosecution witnesses on the stand and then, likely the defense getting their crack at this case.

A lot to look forward to yet in this trial.
