Rep. Richard Hanna, a Republican, has announced he intends to run for re-election this fall.

And he'll face competition in the primary from other conservatives in his district. Earlville resident and Republican Michael Kicinski, a member of the Norwich Tea Party Patriots, will be running for the seat again.

Also running for Hanna's seat is Binghamton resident Michael Vasquez, who owns MV Consulting.

Hanna said his campaign will be ready for the challenges.

"I'm not surprised that I have competition from the far right. It comes with the territory. We'll just wait and see what happens that's all. We're prepared to run a strong election and it's not like I haven't been through this before."

Hanna will be trying to win his third term in office this fall.
