NEW YORK STATE FAIR -- A number of statewide farmers are protesting at the fair to help protect farms and vineyards against the potential dangers of hydrofracking.
Dairy, beef and organic farm representatives stood outside the main gate with signs. Some we spoke with say fracking would cause water and air contamination affecting farms across the state.
"You know, there is no safe method at this point to do hydrofracking. So you know approving it in New York State is just from a public health and a farming point of view crazy," livestock farmer Ken Jaffe said.
Farmers we spoke with say they hope to send a clear message to Governor Cuomo during his visit.
