Voters on Facebook have pointed out some great restaurants so far this month for "On the Menu." Thanks to those votes on the Time Warner Cable News Facebook page, the latest stop is Bonomo's Dari Creme in Kirkland.
It's a seasonal drive-up business known for creamy treats, a popular menu and miniature golf.
It's all about family here as Vinnie and Guy Bonomo continue a tradition their dad started in 1962.
Many know Bonomo's for their many grill selections and tasty ice cream. But if you're looking for the popular selections, how about the Boom Boom Burger, and Italian ice? Vinnie and Guy gave a glimpse of how each are made.
Vinnie handles the grill, and his Boom Boom Burger is well known around Oneida County.
"A third of a pound of beef. Cooked the way you like it. Piece of cheese. Nice slice of onion. Coleslaw, and then my secret Boom Boom sauce, " Vinnie said.
"It's a chipotle garlic sauce. I want to be fed intravenously with the Boom Boom sauce," he said.
Burgers, chicken and barbecue selections here make a perfect lunch or dinner. But don't forget dessert. Guy handles that.
"I'm constantly making something every day so a lot of people say I never see you. Well I'm not hiding, I'm back here making ice cream," said Guy.
Usually a few dozen of the favorite flavors along with a popular lemon Italian ice and some others.
"Grape once in a while, blue raspberry is pretty popular, cherry. I know this is good because my mother likes it. And, if my mother likes it it goes on the menu," Guy said.
If mom says it's good, then she's probably right. Maybe that's why customers agree.
"Our customer base has been loyal for 50-something years, some families have moved away and come back, and are like we're so glad we're back. One of the reasons we love coming back to the area is because of you guys so we can't thank the customers enough," said Vinnie.
No matter if it is a tasty burger or a delicious dessert, nothing says tradition like sitting outside of Bonomo's during the summer months.
