CAZENOVIA, N.Y. -- State police have released more details about a deadly domestic incident in Cazenovia.

Troopers say the victim; 44-year-old Amy Bradstreet was stabbed at her home on East Lake Road Monday.

Stephen Schumejda, 31, was charged with second-degree murder.

Police believe the victim and suspects' two sons, who are 3 years old and 18 months old, were home at the time.

They say Schumejda then took the children to his mother's home in Margaretville in Delaware County. It was there that he called 911 to report the stabbing.

Troopers also say there was a report to the Cazenovia Village Police earlier Sunday evening of Stephen Schumejda being heavily intoxicated and leaving a bar.

They are not yet sure how he got a bruise on his eye.

In addition to murder, he's also charged with first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
