Everyone thinks of the wine slushy when they think of an adult beverage at the state fair. This year the fair introduced it's very own beer that Empire Brewing created. As Iris St. Meran explains it's been a "Showstopper."
GEDDES, N.Y. -- Many big names have been on stage already at the New York State fair. But as anyone who's been to the beer tent or colonnades, there's only one "Showstopper."
"I'd like to see in stores. It's a great beer, a good flavor, not too strong, enough hops to give you a good flavor. It's very good," said Joe Milin.
Showstopper is the fair's very own beer. It's the first time it's had something like this and they asked Empire Brewing to create it.
"It is based off our recipe for Skaneateles style beer. It's a hybrid between a pilsner and a lager," said Monica Palmer, Empire Brewing Marketing and Design Director.
It's been a favorite of those that have tasted it. If you haven't tried it yet don't delay because supplies are running out.
"We just got word from our distributors, Onondaga Beverage that they delivered the last of their Showstopper kegs to the fair today. So unfortunately we won't have anymore of that," said Palmer.
"Had I know they were making a limited supply I would have bought more and stalk piled it. I think we're going to be out by this weekend but hopefully, we'll have enough," said David Tadros, New York State Brew Pub & Distillery Manager.
So get your fill while supplies last or you'll have to wait until next year.
