SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Day two of the New York State Fair is designed to recognize the men and women of law enforcement.
As part of that tribute, seven troopers and police officers who died in the line of duty over the past year were honored.
The day is also a great opportunity to learn more about what police do every day. The state police exhibit features a lot of live demonstrations, including scuba diving, canine, and rescue shows.
Many fairgoers say it's an important stop to make at the fair.
"The kids just love seeing the dogs, and the people repelling down the wall and the scubas and everything else. They like just watching to see what the cops do, in a fun setting," said Jerry Cavallerano.
Friday is also Comptrollers Day, and Thomas DiNapoli is expected to visit.
Remember to stop by the Time Warner Cable News booth and take a selfie with an anchor or meteorologist, and find out the Food of the Day.
