WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A Watertown business that just opened its doors ten days ago has been told its illegally practicing law, and must stop doing business.

Legal Docs by Me was touted as a company that helped people fill out paperwork for uncontested legal matters without having to hire an attorney. However, New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said he has issued a notice of proposed litigation, a cease and desist letter, and a subpoena for the company's business records.

According to Schneiderman, the company's founder was previously involved in a similar company that faced multiple lawsuits, practiced law without authorization, and forged client signatures.

Schneiderman has created a phone line for anyone who thinks they were part of the fraud at 1-800-771-7755. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
