WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The third Saturday of May is National Armed Forces Day.
In Watertown people gathered for the annual parade complete with bands, fire trucks and of course our troops.
Many say it's a perfect opportunity to show our appreciation.
"It's a very difficult job. It's all volunteer Army now. It wasn't in my day. These guys are doing it because they feel something. They're not doing it because they have to. So your hats should be off to them," said Richard Forsyth, an Army veteran.
The parade is an Operation Yellow Ribbon event and is sponsored by several Fort Drum and community organizations.
