SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Construction has produced additional living options for those looking to move to downtown Syracuse, and this weekend people will have a chance to check out some of those places.
The Downtown Living Tour will take visitors through nine different residential units, including a couple of new condos. Some of the buildings are under construction, while others are complete.
The Downtown Committee has hosted the event for eight years and said it continues to grow in popularity as more people look to move into the city.
"It's a trend that we're seeing nationally, people are wanting to be close to their places of employment. We're seeing empty-nesters wanting to come into the downtown district, downsize from their home in the suburbs because they want to have arts and culture right outside the front door. And that's something that we're seeing with the young professional crowd as well," said Merike Treier, the Downtown Committee executive director.
The tour goes from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.
Pre-sale tickets are $12 dollars, they are available until Thursday. Day-of tickets are $15.
