BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Students at Ray Middle School in Baldwinsville raised money to help veterans on Monday.

The money is being raised to honor Marine Corporal Kyle Schneider, a Baldwinsville graduate. He was killed in Afghanistan in 2011.

In his honor, sixth grade students are collecting donations to provide service dogs to injured veterans.

"So, his motto was 'It's my turn.' And, we really want to raise $2,000 so we can buy a service dog to go to an injured Marine. So, now it's our turn to make a difference," said Anna Cutie, a sixth grade student.

If every student in the middle school were to donate $2, organizers said they would have enough to provide one service dog to a veteran in need. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
