SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In an effort to highlight all the new living options in downtown Syracuse, a Downtown Living Tour will be held on Saturday.
Participants will get the chance to visit nine residential units, including brand new condos and some units that are still under construction.
The event has been hosted by the downtown committee for the last eight years, and each year is bigger than the last.
"It's a trend that we're seeing nationally, people are wanting to be close to their places of employment. We're seeing empty nesters wanting to come into the downtown district, downsize from their home in the suburbs because they want to have arts and culture right outside the front door. And that's something that we're seeing with the young professional crowd as well," said Merike Treier, the executive director of the downtown committee.
The tour is scheduled for Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets are $12, and are available through Thursday at any participating AmeriCU Credit Union branches or at downtownsyracuse.com.
