SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Seneca County man faces multiple felony charges for allegedly forging checks and stealing money from an elderly woman.
31-year-old Christopher Claeys was arrested Friday for failure to appear in court for charges he received in February.
Investigators then determined Claeys stole blank checks from an elderly woman he befriended late last year. He's accused of forging the checks for cash and making unauthorized purchases with the victim's credit card.
According to police, Claeys was found with a 25-year-old woman who had an order of protection against him.
He now faces several charges including second degree forgery, possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny.
Claeys is scheduled to appear in Seneca Falls Town court Monday night for a felony hearing.
