SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Kids in Syracuse are getting some new sports equipment. It's all part of an effort put together by Tillie's Touch.
The organization makes sure those who may not be able to afford sporting equipment don't miss out on the opportunity to play sports.
SU, Leveling the Playing Field, and Tillie's Touch all collected both new and used equipment to give out Saturday.
Organizers say the need is always there.
"Within Syracuse the population, especially with the refugees, the population increasing every year there is an increase of love of the sport of soccer and every sport. But, mainly soccer and the kids are constantly growing obviously, I can hand a pair of cleats to a kid in the spring time and in the fall time he's gonna need a different pair of cleats because they out grow them," said Dale Johnson, Tillie's Touch President.
Every Saturday Tillie's Touch will be at the park. If you'd like to drop off equipment donations someone will be there from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m.
