MANLIUS, N.Y. -- A new clutch of swan eggs has been laid in Manlius.
The village swans, Manny and Faye, laid the second egg of the season on Friday morning. Faye is expected to lay as many as eight or nine eggs over the next few weeks.
According to the experts, her clutch was laid later than usual due to the recent weather.
"The past two years she's laid at the end of March. We've had a bitter cold winter, so it's postponed them, which is kind of a good thing," said Michael Bean, the Manlius Swan Advisor. "Last year, she laid so early I think some of the eggs froze before she started incubation."
The eggs are expected to hatch during the first week of June.
