CANTON, N.Y. -- Michael Wallace, aka Don Cypha, is hoping to combine his business education with his love of music to become the next big rap artist.

Wallace, a SUNY Canton business student, will be performing at SUNY Canton Friday night before he opens for ASAP Ferg at the school next Wednesday.

It'll be the biggest performance so far for Wallace, who says he loved music since he first heard a song.

Wallace says it's challenging balancing school and an aspiring rap career, but they also go hand in hand.

"I always planned on having my own business one day," he said. "Now that we've started our own label I've just been using everything that I've learned in my business courses to help run the label a little bit."

Wallace will perform Friday and next Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Dana Hall Gym at SUNY Canton. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
