UTICA, N.Y. -- Local stars hit the court Thursday night to help a local charity.

It was the 12th annual Celebrity Classic Wheelchair Basketball Game at Utica College. Star athletes including Erin Hamlin, CJ Fair, and Baye Moussa Keita all supported the cause. They took members of the Sitrin STARS. It's a program to help athletes with disabilities.

Fundraisers like this charity game help provide sport opportunities to program participants.

"It's all about raising awareness that just because you have a disability you can't perform at a very high level. Whether it's wheelchair basketball or a variety of sports, people are going to see first hand that it can be done. It just takes a little time and effort," said Marc DePerno, the director of Sitrin STARS.

CJ Fair added, "It means a lot you know, coming and showing your support. Having fun and interacting with everyone out here."

The organization also helps athletes to compete at the paralympic level. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
