SOUTHERN TIER -- People across the Southern Tier region witnessed a variety of precipitation during Wednesday's storm.

In Corning, and other western parts of the region, there was plenty of snow to go around. According to the National Weather Service, Hornell received 10.5 inches of snow, while other communities received anywhere from 6 to 10 inches.

However, Binghamton and other parts of Broome County saw nothing more than rain. The downpour washed away most of the snow left from earlier storms. Although the rain turned to snow flurries temporarily, there was nothing more than two inches left on the ground.
