JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A portion of State Route 3 in Southern Jefferson County is closed as flood waters rise over the roadway.
The water from Sandy Creek, and blowing snow covering it made the road treacherous.
State officials put up signs explaining the proper detour route.
They say they can't re-open the road until the water recedes.
It's the second time this year that section of road was closed.
The last time, back in January, it was shut down for a week.
