TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Lawmakers are hoping to bring more business to the Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport.
The Tompkins County Legislature approved $50,000 for a consulting service.
Officials hired a liaison with the airline industry to address factors that have led to a decline in passengers at the airport.
Part of the problem has been airlines reducing capacity at the airport, leaving fewer seats to sell.
The contract with the consultant will last one year.
