THURSTON, N.Y. -- Fire crews responded to a house fire late Thursday morning in Thurston.
The call came in around 10 o'clock for a house fire at 5565 County Route 11.
Upon arrival, crews saw heavy smoke and flames coming out of the back of the house.
Three adults and a baby live in the home, but no one was home at the time of the fire.
The cause is still under investigation, but officials plan to look into some of the household items.
"Basically one of our main causes of fires in Thurston for quite a few years now have been candles in mobile homes and structure fires have been caused by pinched electrical cords or overloaded electrical cords with multi-receptacles plugged into them," said Tom Lozo, Thurston Fire Chief.
No injuries were reported.
