UTICA, N.Y. -- Companies are moving in to do business in the City of Utica.
Mayor Robert Palmieri announced the former Metlife Building in the Utica Business Park has been sold.
Syracuse based Summit Realty Management Corporation bought the property. The building has been sitting vacant for about two years.
In a few weeks, renovations will begin inside and out to make the building ready for new tenants.
"The number of tenants could be anywhere from four to ten. It kind of depends on their needs. It's flexible building so there's a lot of different combinations we could end up with," said Jeff Foster, Summit Realty Management Principal Broker.
They already have their first tenant, ORBCOMM, a satellite communication logistics company.
They will move into the building in March.
ORBCOMM is expected to bring about 35 new jobs to Utica.
