MARCELLUS, N.Y. -- Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a serious crash in the Town of Marcellus.

Deputies say Connor Osterman, 23, was on Rockwell Road around 5 a.m. Friday when he went off the road and hit a tree. Osterman was thrown from the vehicle. His car ended up in the path of a pickup truck. That driver swerved out of the way, hitting a tree and utility pole. He was not hurt in the crash, but Osterman had to be airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the initial crash is still under investigation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
