ITHACA, N.Y. -- Crews in Ithaca are making progress when it comes to clearing ice jams in Cascadilla and Fall Creek.

DPW crews worked overnight to clear ice from affected areas. Flooding has receded from areas around Cascadilla Creek and the majority of streets are now open.

Parking garages will remain open through 8 a-m Monday. Normal parking has resumed in the Fall Creek area.

While conditions are improving, officials said there is a chance new ice jams could build up.

Residents in the area are still being asked to monitor changes in water levels.

Those with sand bags are asked to keep them handy for future flooding events.

If you still need some, you can pick them up at a number of locations including Northstar Restaurant and the Neighborhood Pride Grocery Store.
