ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and other local leaders have six years to complete it but one of the goals of the county's Vision 20/20 was highlighted Friday and that's keeping people in the area.
The Rotary and County are teaming up for an internship program, much like the summer internship program already in place in the county.
Vision 20/20 was started as part of the nano-tech movement.
It's a three-prong plan focusing on housing, diversity, and workforce development and training.
Picente says, this internship program is just part of a master plan for growth of people in the region.
"Where one side of equation is the infrastructure, is the building block. But, now it's about who goes in those buildings. And, how do we make that investment and make a plan in place that people are ready, that this community is ready?" asked Anthony Picente, Oneida County Executive.
In terms of the internship program announced Friday through the rotary and the county, there will be ten slots with companies and agencies like the Chamber of Commerce, Morgan Stanley and county government taking part.
