WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Lt. Governor Bob Duffy was one of a handful of state cabinet members to head out on the road and give a regional recap of Governor Andrew Cuomo's State of the State presentation.
Duffy was in Watertown Thursday afternoon to recap statewide issues like the equality act, casinos and medical marijuana.
He also spent time trying to discuss other issues on a more local level, like high unemployment rates and property taxes in the North Country.
He also talked about possibilities like tourism; Governor Cuomo was recently in Lowville to go snowmobiling.
Duffy also praised North Country officials for their work in winning a top prize in the state's Regional Economic Development Council awards.
"If anything it reflects the talent and the passion you have up here. It's the least populated region in the state that has beat everyone from New York City to the Finger Lakes and everywhere in between," said Robert Duffy, Lt. Governor.
Duffy also mentioned how important basic infrastructure is, no matter how lackluster it is to talk about.
