SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Ground crews at Hancock Airport in Syracuse were busy on Friday morning as they worked to de-ice the planes prior to takeoff.

Eight of the 17 flights leaving Syracuse in the early hours of the morning were canceled. The flights were scheduled for Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, New York City, and Newark. In addition, there were six arrivals that never made their way to Syracuse.
