DEWITT, N.Y. -- A driver and customers at an East Syracuse McDonalds escape injury after a car smashed into the restaurant.
Police responded to the McDonalds on Thompson Road around 11:30 Sunday morning.
They say a woman, 74, hit the gas pedal instead of the break as she was parking.
Her SUV then went over the curb, through a window and into a seating area.
The driver, patrons and employees were uninjured.
A Codes Officer was on scene and determined that no damage had been done to the buildings structure.
The restaurant will remain closed through Sunday until repairs can be made.
It is expected to reopen on Monday.
