SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Freezing conditions make it tough for Syracuse firefighters to put out a fire at a home on Cannon Street.
Crews found heavy flames and smoke in the attic just after 9 p.m. last night.
Firefighters said it took them about ten minutes to knock it down, but the overhaul at the scene is a project.
"As soon as you get ice forming you can get slip hazards where someone can fall and get hurt. That slows the pace down a little bit so we can make sure we're doing our job effectively and not getting anybody hurt."
Investigators are still looking into what sparked the flames.
