Grant to help improve water distribution

  • Text size: + -

CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two Cayuga County communities are getting help from the state to help improve their water systems.

The state Environmental Facilities Corporation approved a $2 million grant for the Village of Cayuga and Town of Aurelius.

Officials say the current distribution system treats raw water from Cayuga Lake and is experiencing water main breaks and capacity issues that affect both quantity and quality. The money will be used to upgrade the existing system, replace aging mains and extend public water to areas with private, substandard wells. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
