BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- There was a sea of red and white in downtown Binghamton Sunday morning for the 3rd annual Santa's Run.
More than 800 people sprinted along the 5K course to celebrate the season.
The race benefits the St. John's School and the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Many participants were dressed as Santa, Mrs. Clause and even the Grinch.
Awards went out to those with the best costume and the most spirit.
Sunday's cold temperatures didn't prevent runners and spectators from spreading some holiday cheer.
"How do you miss this? Almost a thousand people running and you get to dress up and make a fool of yourself. How can you beat that, and it's going to a good cause to do our part," said runner Dan Cavalari.
The winner of this year's race was Scott Gleason from Walton. He completed the course in fifteen minutes and three seconds.
The first female to cross the finish line was Tara Soraghan of Johnson City.
