SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A new class of students has entered Leadership Greater Syracuse.
The 2014 edition went through their orientation Thursday afternoon and met graduates of the program during the organization's holiday social.
Leaders said the goal is to get people to be more active in their neighborhoods.
"Our graduates are out in their community doing amazing things,” said Pam Brunet, the Executive Director of Leadership Greater Syracuse. “They're volunteering in a ton of different capacities. Everything from running for elected office, serving on boards and actually moving through the ranks of their employer."
LGS is a one year civic engagement program. Classes are tailored to people's interests.
