WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The City of Watertown kicks off the Christmas season Friday night and YNN will carry some of the festivities live.

The city is expecting big crowds on Public Square when things kick off at 5:30 p.m. There will be concerts, dancers and a parade featuring Santa. That all leads up to the lighting of the tree.

The lights, and even those on some smaller trees nearby, are set to 12 different holiday songs.

If you can't make it out, our live coverage will start at 6:30 p.m., just in time for Watertown Mayor Jeff Graham to countdown the lighting. And if you do plan to see it in person, various downtown businesses are teaming up to collect canned food items to donate to the Watertown Urban Mission.
