UTICA, N.Y. -- People in Utica will get the opportunity to visit Santa Claus at Utica City Hall on Thursday.

The city is hosting Christmas at City Hall on December 12 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Kids can enjoy a sleigh ride, write letters to Santa, and even sit on his lap.

According to Utica's Mayor, they are expanding the event this year because the look on the children's faces are worth the extra effort.

"And this is just one way that we use city hall to bring the kids, the parents in to share a little bit of joy, and a good time and good feelings at the cost of nothing," said Mayor Palmieri.

City hall is also asking people to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Time Warner Cable's Toys for Kids. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
