SKANEATELES, N.Y. -- The car dealer in Skaneateles accused of scamming a customer has finally repaid his debt.
Pat Bombard spent the last two days in jail after failing to deliver the final $47,000 owed to Erma Jerva. Bombard stole $155,000 from the elderly woman, and was originally sentenced to five years of probation.
On Tuesday, a judge ordered him to be held in jail until the last of the money was paid. On Thursday, his lawyer presented checks totalling $48,000 in court.
"I believe, you know, it worked out as best it could for him under the circumstances. He's happy and I'm happy that she got her monies," said Bob Durr, defense attorney.
Bombard was released from jail, and ordered to continue serving his original five year probations sentence.
