CHAMPION, N.Y. -- Six people were injured and three of them are still in the hospital after a crash involving two vehicles and a tractor. It happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 3 in the Town of Champion.

Jefferson County investigators say a tractor towing a manure spreader was waiting in traffic at an intersection. They say a driver coming up behind the tractor failed to see it and hit the manure spreader, which spun her vehicle around, leading to a head on collision with another car.

Two passengers in the first car were airlifted to a Syracuse hospital and are in fair condition. The driver is in stable condition at another hospital.

All three people in the second vehicle were treated at the hospital and released.

No charges have been filed at this time.
