CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Reaper drones are once again in the air over Central and Northern New York. The Air National Guard's 1-74th Attack Wing resumed training missions from a Fort Drum airfield Monday.
Those training missions had been suspended since November 12th when a drone crashed into Lake Ontario. The drone was about 20 miles northeast of the port of Oswego when it went down.
Officials say they restarted training flights after a careful review, including consultations with technical experts.
Meanwhile, two investigation boards are still looking into the cause of the crash. They'll develop separate reports: One that will remain internal and one for public release.
