SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse man is arrested after he jumped out of moving car in an attempt to get away from police.
Police said they attempted to pull over Jamell Nellons for a traffic violation, but led police on a chase for several blocks. Nellons eventually jumped out of his moving car while a child was still inside.
Police were able to catch him, and found him in possession of 12 grams of crack cocaine. Nellon's eight-year-old step-son was not hurt, and was released to his mother.
Nellons faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.
