ITHACA, N.Y. - Trailing 10-0 after the first quarter, the Cornell football team stormed back to beat Bucknell 45-13 on Saturday in Big Red alumnus David Archer's head coaching debut.

Jeff Mathews threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns, becoming the program's career leader in total offensive yards and completions.

CORTLAND, N.Y. - With Tyler Augliano less than 100 percent Tyler Hughes started at quarterback for SUNY Cortland and became the first Red Dragons QB ever to rush for 200 yards in a 26-15 win against William Paterson.

Hughes finished with 203 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, making up for a lackluster passing attack as he was sacked six times and completed just 7 of 20 throws for 62 yards.

Cortland is now 1-1.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Ithaca College used two Rakim Jones touchdowns and a whole lot of defense to down Union 17-3 on the road.

Jared Prugar led the Bombers offense with 165 receiving yards on six passes from Phil Neumann and the defense racked up four sacks and an interception to keep Union at bay.

Ithaca is now 2-0. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 (http://commoncrawl.org/faq/) Profile: TWCSAMLSP
