SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The man shot by a sheriff's deputy in Seneca County is released from the hospital. Aaron Russ, 40, is now being held at the Ontario County Jail on a parole violation warrant.

Russ was shot Thursday night in the Town of Waterloo, just outside the City of Geneva, when deputies responded to a report of an out of control man. He was a parolee and had allegedly removed his ankle monitoring bracelet.

Investigators said when they arrived, Russ was acting aggressively. They said Russ attacked a deputy, and a Taser had no effect on him. The deputy then fired twice, hitting Russ in the right arm.

Russ was taken to Geneva General Hospital, where as we said, he was treated and released. The deputy involved was treated for a concussion and released.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected to be filed soon.
