JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Construction will soon begin on North Country bridges as part of the New York Works Bridge projects.

In Jefferson County, four bridges will have bridge deck replacement work done beginning this Monday, including State Route 971-V over the Black River in the Town of LeRay and State Route 193, where it passes over Interstate 81 in Ellisburg.

The $5.9 million project will include repairing the underlying steel structures and replacing critical components, such as bearings and joints.

Fifteen bridges in total across New York State will either be completely replaced or have new concrete decks installed. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
