ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Parents got a chance to ask questions and speak out about security in the Fayetteville-Manlius School District. It was a chance for people to talk to administrators in the wake of the Newtown shooting.

Dozens of people gathered for the Board of Education meeting at Eagle Hill Middle School.

Superintendent Corliss Kaiser says the district reviewed its policies after the shooting. According to Kaiser, F-M meets all the national standards, but they want to take extra steps to make sure everyone feels secure.

"We've also taken feedback from our parents. If they are seeing some things that perhaps need some updating or tightening, we're listening very carefully to what they have to say and making sure our practices are working as well as possible," said Kaiser.

"We want to make sure that our son is safe in this school. We think that he is. This school is fantastic. They've got a lot of great procedures in place. But we want to see what their ideas are going to be going forward," parent Steve Crobar said.

Superintendent Kaiser says the district also practices how to respond in emergency situations.
