SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse's mayor is applauding new decisions on sharing the latest round of state economic development funds.

The Central New York region, which was given the highest amount of funding last year, comes in second in the new round, receiving close to $94 million in grants and incentives.

Cuomo, who toured development sites earlier this year, again applauded the cooperation among communities and the private sector in the region for developing new programs.

Mayor Stephanie Miner says it's a broad range of projects.

"Ultimately, what's most important in this is that this leads to jobs. And jobs leads to quality of life and it goes across the board. Whether it's downtown Syracuse. Whether it's a new neighborhood. Whether it's a grocery store. Whether it's a community health center. It's all different types of development," Miner said.

Miner says work is already underway on development proposals for the next round of funding due in late 2013. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
